"The European Commission notified us that it approves the application form for project for the construction of the Western Lot of Sofia ring road", announced the Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Petar Kirov. In his words, the site is financed by the EU Cohesion Fund through the Operational Programme "Transport”.

"The entire length of the track is about 8.5 km”, said Petar Kirov. The project starts from the current point of intersection of the ring road of Sofia highway "Lyulin" and ends after the future connection with the North Tangent and highway "Sofia - Kalotina." "The main part of the new road will have three lanes in each direction," added the Deputy Minister.

The project is implemented under Axis 2 "Development of road infrastructure along the Trans-European and major national transport axes" of OP "Transport". Its implementation is currently granted financial aid in the amount of 44,803,076 Levs, 35,842,461 Levs of which are from the EU Cohesion Fund. The site is divided into two sections, as the first is in the process of implementation and has reached 40%.physical progress.
