The Minister of Transport, information Technology and Communications Danail Papazov opened the new Madara railway station in the Shoumen region today. The project has been implemented with NRIC’s capital and by the end of the next month the site is to obtain the required certification.

“I am pleased with the work of the companies that are part of the MTITC system. When I was here ten months ago I made three promises and two of them have already been fulfilled”, said Minister Papazov during the ceremony. Reconstruction works at Shoumen railway station are about to begin by the end of the year.

During the event Minister Papazov presented the Mayor of the village of Madara Antoaneta Ivanova with some of the necessary certification of the site.

During his visit in the region in July last year Minister Papazov promised that a new station would be constructed. In the following months NRIC started the construction works and a hundred-meter platform was build for the easy and safe access, as well as facilities for people with reduced mobility and some twenty-meter platform sheds. There is a steel railing along the platform.

The event was attended by the Regional Governor of Shoumen Ventzislav Venkov, the Mayor of Shoumen municipality Krasimir Kostov, and representatives of NRIC.
