The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Danail Papazov opened the reconstructed post office in Shumen. The renovated Bulgarian Posts office is the largest in the area, said the Minister during the ceremony. He added that the office serves 11.000 households and more than 100 companies.

About 5000 letters and 2000 registered parcels are processed monthly at the renovated office in Shumen. Besides the usual postal services customers can receive and send express money transfers, pay phone bills, electricity and internet bills, obtain loans, unemployment benefits and try their luck with lottery tickets.

"Bulgarian Posts" EAD launched a programme to improve facilities for both employees and customers. Within several months, this is the second reconstructed post office in Shumen and the renovated offices in the whole country are over 30.
