"Travel time from Sofia to Mezdra takes about an hour and a half by train, which is 20 minutes less than by car, whose driver complies with all rules and restrictions on the way", said Minister Papazov during the inspection of the repaired sections along the railway line Sofia-Mezdra

Project funds amount to about 14 million lev as the main funding comes from capital transfer from the state budget and infrastructure fees. The aim is to improve the level of transport safety and travel comfort, as well as to increase the speed of the trains following the completion of the repair works. Travel time on the route Sofia-Mezdra will be reduced by about 15 minutes, and from the capital to Vratsa it will be 25 minutes less than travel time now, added Minister Danail Papazov.

The Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Anton Ginev, the Director General of NRIC Milcho Lambrev, the Executive Director of "Holding BDZ" Christian Krastev and others among other participated in the inspection.

Later in the day , Minister Papazov will open a museum of railway infrastructure at the State Enterprise "Transport Construction and Rehabilitation".
