The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Danail Papazov, the Minister of Economy and Energy Dragomir Stoynev, together with the Executive Director of Kozloduy NPP Ivan Genov, validated a post stamp on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the commissioning of the first unit of the plant.
The post stamp is unique not only because of the importance of the event, but also because of the fact that in recent decades not a single philatelic product related to the energy sector has been issued, said Minister Papazov at the ceremony. The topic was popular in the 70s when efforts were made to build one of the largest power plants in Bulgaria.
The first postage stamp for Kozloduy NPP was printed in 1976. Special editions have been dedicated to the TPPs Maritsa Iztok and Bobov Dol and the hydropower plant Belmeken.
The edition, which was validated today, consists of a postage stamp and is printed in 11 000 copies. The artist of the project is Tahsin Ahmed.
