The celebrations on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the construction of Danube Bridge have been cancelled 20.06.2014

The Bulgarian-Romanian delegations, headed by the Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Anton Ginev and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Transport of Romania Iulian Matache, paid tribute to the victims of the floods in Varna and Dobrich. All the initiatives related to the celebrations on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the construction of Danube Bridge organized by MTITC have been cancelled. The European Coordinator on inland waterways and the Rhine-Danube Corridor Karla Peijs, and the Director General of the Secretariat of the Danube Commission Peter Margic, who are also in Russe on the occasion, paid tribute to the casualties.

Immediately after the first signals on the critical situation in Varna yesterday (19 June) the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Danail Papazov, traveled to the Black Sea city. The Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications and its bodies are actively participating in the rescue operations in the distressed regions.
