The Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Anton Ginev meet with the Greek Ambassador in Bulgaria Dimostenis Stoidis in relation to the transition of vehicles with Bulgarian registration through the Greek border.

Deputy Minister Ginev voiced the position of the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications of Bulgaria that the most suitable approach towards the pressing issue is to extend the transit period for the implementation of measures by the Greek party until the end of the year. Meanwhile the Bulgarian party commits to introduce the necessary amendments to the legislation on the ownership of vehicles.

During the meeting the Bulgarian side presented some other approaches, namely the Greek authorities, when carrying out inspections, to accept a certified copy of Part A of the registration documents and cars and coaches to be out of the scope of the measures.

Ambassador Stoidis added that the ownership of lease vehicles is also unclear. He said that the Embassy of Greece in Sofia works towards the swift solution to the problem and that all parties concerned should work effectively and in coordination.
