Minister Angelkova: The physical progress on the railway section Pazardzhik – Stamboliiski has doubled 19.09.2014
Large size

In only three weeks the physical progress along the railway section Pazardzhik – Stamboliiski has increased twice, said the Transport minister Nikolina Angelkova during today’s inspection of the site. She said that during the previous inspection of the construction works there was a four-month delay reported and the physical progress was only six per cent. Currently the total physical progress of the section is 11.4 % as there are more than 100 people working on site on twelve-hour shifts with 69 machineries.

Minister Angelkova added that if the contractor continues to work at the same pace the four-month delay will be compensated and the site will be commissioned in time – July 2015. “We will continue to monitor and control the activities of the contractor so as to ensure compliance with the deadline”, added the Minister.

In order to reduce the delay of the contractor – DZZD IGA – Railway Infrastructure, the inspectors requested a revised working program with specific information on the actually completed activities and the ones that are about to be completed, as well as a deadline for the overall completion of the site.

The railway section Pazardzhik – Stamboliiski is part of the project “Modernization of the railway section Septemvri – Plovdiv – part of the Trans-European railway network”. The contract value is 54 827 102,29 levs without VAT (with 10 % incidental costs).
