Postage stamp commemorates the 135th anniversary of Aleksandrovska Hospital 31.10.2014
Large size

The Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Kamen Spassov and the Director of Aleksandrovska Hospital Kostadin Angelov validated a postage stamp to commemorate the 135th anniversary of the hospital.

Medicine is a topic that has often been represented in Bulgarian stamp issuing, said Deputy Minister Spassov at the ceremony. In recent years the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications has issued a postal card dedicated on the 75th anniversary of the emergency service in Bulgaria and a stamp on the 120th anniversary of the Military Medical Academy, he recalled.

The issue, which is dedicated to the 135th anniversary of the establishment of the hospital, depicts the Red Cross, which has been present in Bulgarian postal issuing for more than 80 years, and is topical in global philately.

The philatelic item is in circulation as of today in 11 000 copies. The artist of the project is Teodor Liho.
