MTITC to patron an open training on safe railway crossing 25.11.2014

An open training on “Safe railway crossing and behaviour during work with electrified railway equipment” will be organized under the patronage of the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications.

The event will take place tomorrow, 26 November 2014, starting at 12:30 at the premises of Sveti Sedmochislenitsi School in 28 Tsar Ivan Shishman, Str.

Experts from Holding BDZ EAD and National Railway Infrastructure Company will take part in the event, which has been initiated by Bi-Bit National Club for safety of children and the youth.

The idea is experts from both railway companies to present to the students the dangers of irresponsive behaviour of drivers and pedestrians at railway crossings, as well as the risks of coming into close contact with trains, engines, and electrified network. The experts will also present the composition of the engine, closing an electrical circuit, how to power the engine, as well as the work of the pantograph and the electric train network. Types of railway crossings, which are grouped in terms of their equipment, modernization and trends to reduce the number of crossings,  will be presented to the students.
