In the eve of one of the biggest Christian holidays - St. Nicholas day, a postage stamp on the 100th anniversary of the consecration of the Russian St. Nicholas Wonderworker church was validated.

The faith we have in the Saint provides a moral and spiritual support and with the stamp in circulation the massage of Christian virtues can be spread around the world, said during the ceremony the Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Valery Borissov. Bulgarian philately has been extensively depicting Orthodox motives in its stamp issuing. There have been many stamps and products related to Bulgarian churches, the Alexander Nevski Cathedral, as well as icons and murals.

The item is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the consecration of the Russian church in Sofia and consists of a stamp, an illustrated envelope and a seal. The product is in circulation of 11 000 copies and the artist is Maya Staikova.
