Ivaylo Moskovski: We are investing more than 12 million levs into port of Burgas next year 06.12.2014

We are continuing the investments related to the development of the project Super Burgas, said the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski at the opening of the public access area of the port of Burgas. The event was attended by the Minister of the Environment and Waters Ivelina Vasileva, the Mayor of Burgas Dimitar Nikolov, representatives of local and central government and others.

The first cruise season at the port was very successful, said Minister Moskovski. In the period March - November 2014, 27 passenger ships with more than 40,000 passengers have anchored at the newly built Sea Station Burgas. "For the next year we have planned investments worth more than 12 million lev into port of Burgas", said the Minister. In the investment plan for next year the construction of the second module of the Sea station, as well as the reconstruction of one of the oldest constructions of the port - the Magazia, have been included. The rehabilitation of the breakwater of the port is planned.

Minister Ivaylo Moskovski, along with Minister Ivelina Vasileva and the Mayor of Burgas Dimitar Nikolov opened the newly built hall of Yacht Club "Port Burgas”, which is part of a project for building a new yacht terminal at the total amount of 600,000 leva. By the beginning of the Open European Championships of Sailing in August 2015, which our country is hosting, the whole complex of indoor facilities is expected to be completed.

During his visit to the city Minister Moskovski  inspected the construction of the coastal vessel traffic management center, which is part of the "Vessel Traffic Management Information System (VTMIS)". The project is funded under the Operational Program "Transport" 2007 - 2013, and is implemented by the State enterprise "Port Infrastructure".

It emerged from the inspection that the construction works have been implemented in accordance with approved schedule. The progress on the project is 68% and is expected to be completed by the middle of next year.

Earlier this day, Minister Moskovski attended the ceremony of raising the flags in the central square in the city accompanied by a military ceremonial. After yesterday's visit of  the to the flooded railway section Nova Zagora – Simeonovgrad, today he continues to monitor the situation personally in other affected areas. The Minister visited the lake Zornitsa in Sredets municipality along with Minister Ivelina Vasileva and they are continuing to Elhovo and Galabovo where they will join the Minister of Interior Veselin Vuchkov, who is also a chairman of the emergency team to deal with flood damages.
