In a day only the inspectors at Executive Agency Automobile Administration issued more than 70 tickets following the inspection of over 400 taxi cars in the country. The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski ordered the sudden inspection.
During the inspections the employees of the Agency found out technical faults with some of the cars and issued tickets. Some of the taxi cars have not undergone the periodic technical checks. The majority of the irregularities are related to the lack of driving certificate for taxi driving, which is usually issued by the municipality where the taxi is operating. Other violations are related to incomplete daily registers, missing driving certificates and certificates for physiological attestation.
Such mass-scale inspections will be organized on a regular basis for all types automobile transportations of passengers and goods. The main objective is to improve safety, security and the quality of transport services.
