Minister Ivaylo Moskovski participates in a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission TRACECA 30.01.2015

The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski took part in the 11th annual meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) TRACECA, which was held on 29 January 2015 in Istanbul, Turkey.

At the meeting Minister Moskovski held bilateral meetings with the Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications of Turkey Lütfi Elvan and with the Minister of Roads and Transportation of Iran Abbas Akundi. They discussed issues related to international transport cooperation.

The meeting in Istanbul discussed topics related to the implementation of the 2013 – 2015 Action Plan and the activities for technical assistance on the projects. An Action plan for a Road Map in the TRACECA region was also discussed.

The Romanian candidate Mircea Ciopraga was elected Secretary General among the rest of the candidates who were representatives from Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Moldova and Iran.

The Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) TRACECA was established under Art. 8, para. 1 and 2 of the "Basic Multilateral Agreement on International Transport for Development of the Europe - the Caucasus - Asia Corridor, signed on 8 September 1998 in Baku, which has entered into force in Bulgaria on 7 August 1999. IGC TRACECA members are high-level representatives responsible for the transport sector or their plenipotentiaries.
