Minister Ivaylo Moskovski: Bulgarian Posts not to be privatized 04.02.2015
Large size

We are working towards the sustainability, stabilization and development of Bulgarian Posts, said the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski at today’s Transport, Information Technologies and Communications Parliamentary Committee.

The privatization of Bulgarian Posts has not been envisaged in the government program, moreover the company is in the inhibition list, stated the minister. He commented that together with the Deputy Prime minister Tomislav Donchev they have directed their efforts towards making Bulgarian Posts a beneficiary of some European programs.

Minister Moskovski also said that during his previous terms of office “We did our best to show the independent regulator that there is need for state subsidy for Bulgarian Posts, as the company has a predominately social function”, and added this is also an increase of the company’s revenues.

With regard to the national railway carrier, Minister Moskovski recalled that the strategy for its rehabilitation will be ready by mid-February, and it is based on the balance between cost cutting and having the necessary investments in the company. Most probably the strategy will encompass a 10-year period of time.
