The first fifty civil servants responsible for ministerial information systems were enrolled in a training under a project of the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications – “Improvement of the qualification of employees of the central administration through improvement of the knowledge and practical skills for managing software IT projects in line with modern methodologies”.

The project is financed under Operational Program “Administrative Capacity”. Over 350 experts from the central administration will undergo qualification courses so as to be trained in maintaining and exploitation of systems for the provision of electronic services.

Until recently the lack of specialized preparation and shortage of trained experts have been among the main obstacles in the fast development and provision of electronic services, said the Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Valery Borissov at the start of the training. “This is the first mass-scale training of employees responsible for e-government services in all ministries”, he added. The course program combines academic knowledge with practical skills that will be implemented in the work of the IT specialists.

The panels of the course, which started today, are Cyber Security, Business Analyses, Systemic Administration and Java Developing. The participants will undergo preliminary evaluation of the level of their knowledge and skills. The course duration is 10 working days and at its end, upon sitting the corresponding tests, the trainees will obtain a certificate for the specific panel.

Among the objectives of the project is the provision of effective functioning of the electronic governance through ensuring a number of qualified employees to be in charge of the development, management, coordination and monitoring of programs and software projects in the field of information technologies and e-governance.

The project value is 1 913 372, 05 Levs and is to end in September 2015.
