Large size

The Deputy Minister of Transport Information Technology and Communications Anton Ginev met today with representatives of the Federation of Transport Trade Unions in Bulgaria, the Federation of Transport Workers and the Union of the Dockers. During the meeting they discussed issues related to the closing of a part of Port Varna EAD so as to transform it into a recreational area.

Deputy Minister Ginev said that before the project for the construction of intermodal terminal Varna is fully realized, the work on the first and second berths at the port will not stop. He informed that he had already signed the contract for the design of the new terminal. Deputy Minister Ginev noted that this project is a clear indication of the intention of the Ministry to develop and provide new job opportunities for the port.

Those attending the meeting also discussed the Collective Labour Agreement of the employees of "Port of Varna" EAD. They shared the opinion that the working conditions in the port cannot be changed without an agreement being reached by both sides - unions and employers.
