Vladimir Shtarbanov is the new Executive Director of Plovdiv Airport EAD. He was elected by the Board of Directors of Plovdiv Airport after the former director Ivan Karnabitov resigned from the post.
Vladimir Shtarbanov graduates the Civil Aviation Institute in Latvia, majoring in “Economy and Organization of Air Transport”. He has attended several courses at the Singapore Civil Aviation Academy and IATA, and in 2007 obtained IATA certificate for airport management.
Shtarbanov started his professional career in 1981 at the Training Center of Balkan Airways as a mechanist. In the period 1986-2008 he worked at Sofia Airport, starting as economist-planner, later in 1996 appointed as Head of Department “Information Services”. From 1996 to 2008 he was an Exploitation director. From 2008 to 2012 he was an expert in international programs and projects at Bulgarian Aviation Group and was a member of the Board of Directors of Kazan International Airport. In 2011 he became a member of the Board of directors of ООО „ТАТ-AVIA“, and held the position until 2012. In 2014 he worked at Valder Group as a consultant for the construction of Pirin Airport.
