The European Year for Development 2015 was marked by the commissioning of a postal-philatelic product. The validation seal was put by the Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Valery Borissov and his counterpart from the Foreign Ministry Rumen Aleksandrov.
In the past decade the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications has annually issued philatelic products on Europe, said at the ceremony Deputy Minister Borissov. In his words the postal card is the first dedicated on the foreign EU policy and Europe’s role in the world.
In his speech Valery Borissov recalled a statement of one of the fathers of modern-day Europe – Konrad Adenauer: “European unity was a dream of a few people. It became a hope for many. Today it is a necessity for all of us.” Decades later what he said is true not only to us who are part of the big European family, but to people and countries on other continents. This is the idea of the European Year for Development that we mark today with a postal card, added Borissov.
The postal card is in circulation of 1154 copies and the artist is Vessela Tsekova. |
