MTITC starts to collect applicants’ proposals for establishment and administration of a Top-level domain Registry in Cyrillic - ".бг" 01.07.2015

Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications (MTITC) starts accepting  as of today (1 July 2015) applicants ' proposals for the establishment and administration of registry  for a top-level domain in Cyrillic ".бг". The methodology for evaluation of proposals and the requirements for registration have been approved by the Minister Ivaylo Moskovski. Both documents were drafted by a Working Group to MTITC and adopted by the Public Expert Council headed by Deputy Minister Valeri Borissov and includes representatives of ministries, regulatory authorities, scientific  and professional organizations, civil  and  Internet associations.

The deadline for preparation and submission of  proposals   for a top -level domain registry ".бг"  is 90 calendar days from the date of publication of the invitation on the official  MTITC website  : https: // www.mtitc.government.bg/page.php?category=456&id=8388

The applicant whose proposal adheres to the principles and requirements set out in the documents and is ranked the highest will be supported by the government and the Internet community. The next step in the process of selecting a registry for a top-level domain ".бг" is applying to the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers ICANN.

Bulgaria's request  for a domain name in Cyrillic ".бг" was  approved by ICANN in October 2014.​
