Old locomotives and 19th century stations depicted on postage stamps 18.11.2015
Large size

Locomotives and old stations from the 19th century are depicted in a series of four stamps, which was launched today by the Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Anton Ginev.

Over the past 40 years the rail topic has been one of the most common among home and foreign collectors of postage stamps, the Deputy Minister said at the ceremony. He added that today's edition consists of four stamps and an illustrated envelope. "The artist Maglena Konstantinova brings us back more than a century ago - at the dawn of the railway era", he added. The stamp depicts locomotives, which have been long made part of history. The spirit of stations in Ruse, Varna, Dimitrovgrad, Sofia and Septemvri from the late 19th century is well illustrated.

The postage stamps are in circulation of 12 000 copies. According to Deputy Minister Ginev the commissioning seal will make them part of philatelists’ collections and decorate letters sent to our relatives and friends.
