The past year was one of the most successful for issuing of postage stamps in Bulgaria, said Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski on the occasion of the ongoing calls for proposals on themes of postal-philatelic editions in 2017. "We validated some of the most wanted editions of the world philatelic exchanges. Among them are the postage stamps on the World Wide Fund for Nature and the 40th anniversary of the joint space flight "Soyuz - Apollo". Great interest caused also the edition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the artist Stefan Kanchev, who created the first postage stamp on chess in the world, which was validated in Bulgaria, said Minister Moskovski.
The Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications started the elaboration of the Annual thematic plan on issuing of postage stamps in 2017. By 30 August 2016 will be accepted proposals to mark significant events, anniversaries and celebrations. They must be associated with events that are of social, national or global significance; reflect the anniversaries of the birth of celebrities with time-proven contribution to the strengthening of national identity or the development of society; fit into thematic sections: "Bulgaria - our motherland", "Bulgaria and Europe" and "Bulgaria and the world."
The eligibility criteria for the proposals are published on the MTITC website https://www.mtitc.government.bg/page.php?category=471.
