Services
Administrative and technical services provided by the EA for Exploration and Maintenance of the Danube River
- Ensures safety of navigation in the common Bulgarian-Romanian section of the river via riverbed deepening, diving, trailing and vessel lifting activities for the maintenance of the waterway, the aquatory of the ports and the winter passes;
- Informs ships on the state of the waterway, navigational conditions, and alerts them to any changes of navigational signs and markings ;
- Continuously monitors hydromorphological changes, issues alerts on critical sections of the river, takes appropriate measures to ensure safe navigation;
- Establishes conditions and procedures for navigation in critical river sections in cooperation with the EA for Maritime Administration – Ruse;
- Issues a bulletin on the navigational conditions, alerts to ships and broadcasts daily the Hydrometeorological Bulletin;
- Conducts complete hydromorphological and hydrological surveys of the river;
- Collects and disseminates information on the state of the navigational waterway and the hydrometeorological conditions on the river;
- Studies and approves projects for the construction of hydrotechnical and other infrastructure along the river;
- Monitors and approves the position of mining equipment with a view over navigational safety and the possibility of corrosion of banks and islands;
- Issues storm alerts to ships, ship owners, ports and the National Service for Civil Protection in order to enable precautionary measures against flooding, icing, bank erosion, etc.;
- Produces cadastral, topographic, navigational and leadsman maps of the Danube river in general or specific sections of it, hydrographic layout plans, hydrographic surveys, longitudinal and transverse profiles of the Danube related to drafting and building along the river, the needs of river navigation, and upon request;
- Provides data and analysis of surveys of the Danube river to all interested Ministries, Agencies, scientific institutes and construction design organizations;
- Performs diving, trailing, vessel lifting and emergency rescue services on a fee basis;

The site also features an information request template which can be used in obtaining hydrometeorological information along the Danube in Novo Selo, the vicinity of Vidin, and the cities of Lom, Oriahovo, Svishtov, Ruse and Silistra.
