This biennial event has become a unique gathering point for researchers, business people, investors, and high level policy makers in the field of digital innovation. ICT HISTORY
The EU started funding European research in ICT 25 years ago. Every year, the EU contributes some €1 billion to ICT research projects. EU funding has helped researchers and budding entrepreneurs to convert ideas into innovative technologies to benefit 500 million Europeans.
DIGITAL AGENDA
The Digital Agenda is the first of seven flagship initiatives to be adopted under the Europe 2020 strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. It aims to maximize the economic and societal benefits of ICT. One of its priority areas is to step up investment in research and innovation.

Meeting description: In anticipation of the forthcoming Calls 1.3 and 7.3 (FP7-ICT-2011-7 and FP7-2011-NMP-ICT-FoF) of the ICT Theme of the 7th Research Framework Programme (ICT-FP7), the Commission services (Unit D4) organise on Friday 8th October 2010 an open Information Day.
Meeting purpose: An Information Session describing expectations and best practices will be offered in the morning.
