03.07.2006

Unit to Control the Conclusion of Time-Charters will be Created in “Navigation Maritime Bulgare” Ltd. This became clear during the work visit of the Minister of Transport Peter Mutafchiev in Varna and Burgas in the last weekend. The concrete powers of the unit will be given with the rules of its activity.

The unit will be part of the company and will follow the whole procedure from the carrying out of the negotiations to the conclusion of the time-charter contracts. It will have access to the whole information and documentation needed.

The unit will give direct to the Ministry of Transport and to the chairman of the company Directors Council the whole information and its opinions. This will guarantee maximum publicity and improvement of the contracting conditions for time-charters of ships, owned by the company. Objective control in cases of ship charter will be ensured.

Substantial reducing of the time for approving or not approving by the Ministry of Transport of time–charter contracts, stipulated by the company, is also foreseen. The time is being decreased from seven to one workday.

In the Ministry of Transport has been presented a draft project on the Strategy for privatization of the “Navigation Maritime Bulgare”. Suggestions of Branch organizations are already at hand and will be given to the workgroup.

The expectations are that this week the ministers will examine closely the project. It will be sent than to the Ministerial Council for coordination and examination.
