Minister Mutafchiev Met H. E. Tsuneharu Takeda

The Minister of Transport Peter Mutafchiev met today the Ambassador of Japan H. E. Tsuneharu Takeda. During the meeting Ambassador Takeda expressed the intention of the government of Japan to grant a loan of 370 millions US Dollars for the new project of "Official Development Assistance" ODA. The project includes the building and the development of new container terminals for the ports Varna and Burgas. It will also incorporate the building of the equipment of the two big international ports on Black Sea. As expected, the wharfs will take the processing of the growing number of containers, to achieve in this way a better logistic effect. The government of Japan has supported the efforts of Bulgaria towards stable democracy and market-oriented economy through permanent economic development with a variety of forms - loans, gratuitous support, and technical cooperation for more than 840 millions US Dollars. Till that moment the government of Japan has granted loans for 400 millions of US Dollars for the previous five projects and the aid for this new project will be equivalent to almost the same sum as the previous 5 projects. During the talks the two sides expressed their hope that the success of this project will became a symbol of the traditional friendship between Japan and Bulgaria. For additional information:
