Meeting with Representatives of the Maritime Branch Took Place in the Ministry of Transport

Meeting with representatives of the Maritime branch took place in the Ministry of Transport yesterday, April 29, 2008. Ground for the talks were the variants for solution of the problem with the seamen remunerations. The maritime branch was represented by the Bulgarian Association of the Ship brokers and agents (BAKBA), The Bulgarian Maritime Chamber, the Bulgarian Sea Association, The Bulgarian Ship Register and the Bulgarian Association of the Ship-owners (BAK), as well as the Bulgarian Association of the Maritime Captains and the seamen Syndicate of KNSB. The meeting is a prolongation of the initiative, undertaken by the Minister of Transport Peter Mutafchiev in Varna earlier this month, suggesting that the employees in the maritime branch should pay taxes in accordance with the European practices. The common offer of MT and the maritime branch will be also discussed with the Ministry of Finance. The Ministry of Transport will prepare the offers for the legislation changes.
