Seminar on the Project “Transport Prognostication” Took Place in the Ministry of Transport
08.05.2008
The second seminar connected with the project "Transport Prognostication" took place in the Ministry of Transport today. It was opened by the Deputy Minister of Transport Daniela Nikiforova. Representatives from the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management of Netherland, as well as the chiefs of the project participated in the event. The determination of the traffic streams and their prognostication is not an easy task for the process of collecting information for the preparation of national database, as well as for the development of adequate and working prognostic models, which to support the preparation of pre-investment project researches - candidates for EU funds financing, international financing institutions or other financing sources, said Daniela Nikiforova. Thus the joint productive work of the Bulgarian institutions is very important for this ambitious and complex task, which the Ministry of Transport and the Netherlands-Bulgarian Consortium NEA and ITK have undertaken. The project "Transport Prognostication" started on January 2008 with a duration 18 months. Its budget is 135 000 Euro. It was presented to the Netherland side in September 2007 and was approved for financing on the program G2G.NI-Short by the Ministry of Economic Affaires of The Kingdom of the Netherlands. Executor of the project is a consortium between the Netherland organization NEA and the Institute on Transport and Communications. Partner and beneficiary is the Ministry of Transport, which has a leading role in the transport prognostication as institution responsible for the development of the strategies in the transport sector and the realization of the state policy in the field of transport. The Royal Netherlands Embassy in Bulgaria and the Holland Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management are partner in this project.
