The Train Traffic Was Restored

Minister Tsvetkov has ordered improvement of the information in cases of railway incidents

The Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications informs that today August 24, at 9.02 am the railway traffic on the railway line 2 between Sofia and Plovdiv was restored. For now the transportation is being accomplished with diesel traction. As the National Company "Railway Infrastructure" informed earlier at 2.00 am on August 24^th 2009 a car Honda Civic crashed into a pillar, part of the railway infrastructure near Kostenets. As a result of the collision the pillar fell on the railroad 1 and 2 and closed the gauge of the both railroads.

NC "Railway Infrastructure" made reorganization of the train traffic and the work for the fast and save normalizing of the train traffic will continue until the complicate elimination of the problem. 

The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Aleksandar Tsvetkov immediately after the incident ordered to the administrations of BDZ EAD and NC „Railway Infrastructure" to reconsider as soon as possible the systems for information of the citizens, as well as the way of reaction under circumstances of crisis, connected with railway transport.  The goal is the in time information of the clients of the two companies and their relatives and friends, in order to increase the safety and the comfort of the passengers.
