A Determination of People to Have Help with Receivers for Digital TV
12.04.2010
Three more days of public discussions remain for the Transmission program from analog to digital terrestrial TV. The three main goals of the project are elucidatory campaign, support for poor and disabled people and technical requirements to the equipment.
The project is published on the web site of the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications on the 1st of April. No positions or proposals are received up to now, although the topic is a matter of wide public interest.
After 2013 viewers can accept free TV only if their TV sets have implemented receivers or additional device to be built to the old set. In 2010 The Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and the Agency of Social Support will define the socially disadvantaged and disabled groups of people, who need financial assistance to receive devices for accepting the digital signal. The statistics how many of them watch free TV at the moment will be taken into consideration.
In addition are defined the minimum requirements to the devices so that these devices can ensure maximum usage of the advantages of digital terrestrial TV.
