Fines for 800 000 leva imposed Automobile administration on foreign carriers

Specialized inspection of trucks and buses with foreign registration held Executive Agency Automobile Administration last week. Inspectors have imposed fines of almost 90 000 Euros to foreign carriers after 1,000 vehicles were checked and 70 criminal acts and decrees were issued.
These actions are part of the ordered by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Alexandar Tsvetkov measures to combat the informal economy in the automotive sector. For the past three months during such special inspections, inspectors from Automobile Administration has imposed fines on trucks and buses with foreign registration worth 800,000 Euros, 12,000 vehicles were checked, 750 were issued a penal act, 190 car were suspended of movement or the license was withdrew. Most violations are committed by drivers with Turkish registration - 460, from Romania - 130 and from Greece - 13.
For the same period Automobile Administration inspectors have checked 16,000 vehicles carrying shipments on their own-account and drew up 1800 acts.
The most common violations in these services are: the driver does not have a contract, lack of proof of ownership of cargo or that the passengers are employees of the company, the vehicles and the load are not owned by the same company or passengers are not employees of the company. |
