Parvan Rusinov: the E-Health decreases the expenditures in the sector with 20 per cent

With the introduction of the electronic health, the expenditures in the sector decrease with 15-20 per cent, said the Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Parvan Rusinov at the inauguration of the sixth regional conference on E-Health.
For Bulgaria as well as for the other countries in the region, the E-Health is not superfluous luxury but a consecutive approach for enhancement of the effectiveness of the health system in the circumstances of lack of financial resources, said the Deputy Minister. He cited the studies in the USA, Canada, Great Britain and Scandinavian countries that show that in the health sector are accomplished between 30 and 40 per cent of needless medical procedures, laboratory tests or are prescribed superfluous medicines. In these countries and in our country this is due to the lack of constant communication between the doctors and the lack of access to the medical history of the patient.
The experience shows that information technology contributes with 20 per cent for an improvement of health service and the remaining 80% are due to decisions related to an organization, human resources and planning.
The Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications answers for the common strategy for E-Government. Also the ministry supports the development of fully integrated e-health systems, said Parvan Rusinov. |
