Minister Ivaylo Moskovski launched new system for the theoretical driving tests
18.10.2011
Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Ivaylo Moskovski launched today the new system for conducting theoretical examination of candidate drivers.
All innovations are carried out for the purpose of improving the quality of training and to stop the bad practice of buying driver's licenses. "The lack of sufficient knowledge and skills is the main cause for many road accidents. Fighting them involves a set of measures and one of them is the introduction of electronic brochures", Minister Moskovski said at the meeting." This is very important topic for the society. That’s why we aim to minimize opportunities for fraud with the new system ", he added.
From today, the leaflets will be checked by computer, scanner and barcode reader, not with a template as it was before. Each leaflet will have a different combination of questions. The changes will limit the possibility of manipulating the results of theoretical exams, Minister Moskovski said at the meeting. Other changes that will be introduced are a reduction of the number of questions from 60 to 45, there will be more than one correct answer and each test will be individually sealed in an envelope with holographic stickers that are destroyed when opened. Candidates will be able to check their results on https://avtoizpit.com, with their personal number.
This is another step made by the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications to increase road safety. The electronic system is the second stage of the process after last year’s installation of cameras in rooms where theoretical tests are conducted, added the Minister.
