BULATSA hosted the sixth DANUBE FAB Steering Committee meeting, which was held in the town of Pravetz, Bulgaria.
The main topic on the agenda was the preparation of the basic package of documents to be submitted to the European Commission in accordance with the requirements of Regulation (EU) 176/2011 on the information to be provided before the establishment and modification of functional airspace blocks (FABs) in Europe.
During the follow-up of the decisions of the fifth meeting of the DANUBE FAB Steering Committee, held in October 2011 in Sighişoara, Romania, the Steering Committee members were updated on the results achieved at the level of NSAs and military authorities of both States.
In his opening address the BULATSA Director General Mr. Diyan Dinev stated: "I would like to express my gratitude to all Romanian and Bulgarian colleagues involved in the process of DANUBE FAB establishment for their concerted efforts. I believe that by working actively we will contribute to the successful implementation of the DANUBE FAB Project by 4 December 2012 - the deadline for the establishment of FABs in Europe set in the Single European Sky legislation by the European Commission".
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications of the Republic of Bulgaria, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Romania, the National Supervisory Authorities (NSAs) and the military authorities of both countries, the Directors General of BULATSA and ROMATSA, Mr. Diyan Dinev and Mr. Bogdan Donciu, by representatives of the Project teams of the two air navigation service providers (BULATSA and ROMATSA), and by representatives of the international management and technology consultancy Helios Technology Ltd. |
