Projects for over 3 billion BGN for North Western Region will be funded under OP Transport

Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications is developing projects for over 3 billion BGN, which will be implemented in the North-Western Region. This was announced during the forum dedicated to the transport projects under OP Transport.
Experts from MTITC announced that the implementation of the projects is going on schedule and all grants will be utilized. According to Galina Vassileva, Director of "Coordination of Programmes and Projects" in MTITC at the time the project for the Danube Bridge 2 is full of over 72%, and after its completion is expected bandwidth of over 100 thousand vehicles in the first year.
Tenders for the ringroads of Vratsa and Montana have currently started. Their completion is expected by the end of 2014 and the indicative value is over 74 million BGN. The project for modernization of the segment Vratsa (Mezdra) - Botevgrad, which has a length less than 32 km and an indicative value of 166 million BGN is in preparation.
The National Railway Infrastructure Company presented its’ largest railway project – the railway line Sofia-Vidin. The direction of Ruska Byala – Vidin is under construction at the moment, it will be divided into five sections with an estimated value of about 2.5 billion BGN, experts from the company's hope that after 2014 the country will have the means to start building some of them.
Experts from MTITC also presented the project for construction of River Information System in the Bulgarian part of the Danube River (BULRIS), which is under construction. Its’ total value is over 35 million BGN and a part of it is completed and put into use.
The forum about the projects funded under the Operational Programme Transport for Northwest Bulgaria was held in Belogradchik and it was attended by experts of the Managing Authority of OP "Transport",beneficiaries, central and local government , journalists and others.
