Digital changeover information campaign launched

Until the end of the week will be launched the information campaign about the digital changeover from analogue TV in Bulgaria. The campaign is between December 2012 and March 2013 and will give general information through television and radio spots, films, distribution of brochures and publications in the Bulgarian national and regional press. Until December-end will be designed a specialized website and a dedicated DVB-T telephone helpline for questions and information. This was announced by the Deputy-Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Valery Borissov.
“The aim of the campaign is to give people general information about the process of changeover” said Vera Djambazova, head of the contractor of the project.
“The information campaign will be in three parts, before the final changeover in September. People will have to buy a set up box, unless they had a modern television set which had a digital decoder incorporated in it. At the moment we are working at the first stage of the campaign” Djambazova added.
The digital TV network will be launched on 1st March 2013.
New national digital TV network, will operate in parallel with the analogue network until 1st September 2013. Between the two dates people can watch one of the two signals, depending on their receiver.
The analogue TV network will be officially switched off on 1st September 2013.
Until this date, the number of free DVB-T channels will be 15.
During the whole information campaign separate communication with people with social status is planned, which entitles them to receive a free digital decoder. The principle that all citizens are entitled to receive energy assistance voucher that can take your digital decoder and install it on your TV. They will continue to have free terrestrial TV. |
