Dear Colleagues,
Allow me to congratulate you on the occasion of the World Day of Telecommunications and Information Society! Today's date is a cause for professional pride for thousands of Bulgarians from the private and public sectors who work in the field of communication technologies and digital economy.
The slogan, which the International Telecommunications Union has determined for the year 2013, is "Information and communication technologies in improving road safety." This topic suits entirely the priorities of the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications.
In recent years the team of the Ministry has made a significant technological reform in the area of education, examinations for drivers and technical inspection of vehicles. I believe that with the help of the information and communication technologies we have improved the organization and control, which would make our roads more secure and the drivers more responsible.
What stands behind technologies and innovations is the hard work, talent and persistence of the IT professionals. Bulgaria is proud of its experts in the telecommunications and the information society, thanks to whom the sector is one of the most dynamically developing ones over the recent years.
