Deputy Minister Valery Borissov opened the renewed exhibition at the Museum of Communications

On the World Day of Telecommunications and Information Society - May 17, Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Valery Borissov and the Director of the Executive Agency "Electronic Communication Networks and Information Systems" Krassimir Simonski opened the renewed exhibition at the Museum of Communications. Among the new exhibits that were shown were telecommunication devices from the mid 20th century.
The host of the today’s exhibition - Executive Agency "Electronic Communication Networks and Information Systems", builds, maintains and optimizes an electronic communication network for the government, security and defense, said Valery Borissov during the opening. He added that the Agency is a beneficiary of EU funding which amounts to nearly 40 million BGN for the construction of a broadband network in remote villages. Thereby over 200 000 people from the rural areas will have access to fast cutting edge internet.
Deputy Minister Borissov announced that the slogan, which the International Telecommunications Union has determined for the year 2013, is "Information and communication technologies in improving road safety." In recent years the team of the Ministry has made a significant technological reform in the area of education, examinations for drivers and technical inspection of vehicles. In his words, lately the result of these efforts is the double reduction in the number of casualties in road accidents. |
