22.05.2013
The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Kristian Krastev, met with the Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications of the Republic of Turkey, Binali Yildirim. The talks were held today at the International Transport Forum in Leipzig.
Various issues raised by the Bulgarian side were discussed at the meeting, which lasted longer than provisionally agreed. An agreement has been reached, as the Turkish side agreed to consider the time limits and reduce the time allowed for Bulgarian trucks to carry out shipments from Turkey to Germany or another country and vice versa, in compliance with all the requirements in this respect. On Tuesday (May 28, 2013) representatives of the Ministries of Transport of the two countries, at an expert level, will specify how the arrangement will be executed.
There was a discussion related to the invoices about the origin of goods, and an agreement was reached to comply with section 4.2 of the CEMT permit guidelines, i.e. the location of loading can be different from the origin of goods.
The issue of a 30 per cent increase in the number of permits from / to a third country was put forwards by the Bulgarian side, followed by an affirmative answer to the request by the Turkish side, which is a major success and will be crucial for the development of freight transport between the two countries. The details of the arrangement are to be specified at the meeting on Tuesday as the Bulgarian delegation will leave for Turkey on Monday. |
