30.05.2013

The first Bulgarian post stamp to a visually impaired child’s design was issued today at a ceremony at the Louis Braille School for Visually Impaired Children – Sofia. The project entitled “SOS children's villages” belongs to the 13-year-old student at the school, Sanka Nikolova, while Momchil Kolchev worked on the philatelic miniature.

The stamp is issued for general circulation with nominal value of 0,65 lev.

At the beginning of the year the students from Louis Braille School for Visually Impaired Children – Sofia and Prof. Ivan Shishmanov School in Varna were donated ten computers with specialized software. The equipment was provided by the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications and the International Telecommunications Union within the framework of the initiative “E-access in Central and Eastern Europe – Internet and digital television for the visually impaired citizens”.
