“The Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications is ready to take over the logistic schemes of cargo and supplies for the South Stream facilities”, said Danail Papazov, Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, during a round table on the development of the South Stream project. The forum is part of a series of conferences in the countries along the gas pipeline route.
Minister Danail Papazov said that South Stream is an important infrastructure project like all the other ones on the territory of Bulgaria. In his words, a special logistic scheme for the ports of Varna and Burgas for processing and storage of all materials for assembly of the gas pipeline is to be established.
"This project provides an opportunity for BDZ – Freight Services to offer comprehensive services for delivery of goods by road," said Minister Papazov. If approved by the South Stream company a scheme will be prepared for trains to deliver pipes along a tailored route, he added. |
