"BDZ - Passenger Transport" and "BDZ – Freight Services" licenses are valid

09.08.2013

In relation to some recent information in the media, the licenses of "BDZ - Passenger services" Ltd. with № 103 10.07.2008g. and "BDZ - Freight services" Ltd. with № 203  from 10.07.2008 are valid. This can be checked on the website of the "Railway Administration" Executive Agency, where the templates of those licenses have been uploaded and are publicly available. There is no expiry date specified. Such a period is set if the license is provisional. The above mentioned licenses are not provisional.

Every five years the unlimited licenses are reviewed to ascertain compliance with certain requirements. This process is known as "re-licensing". During the re-licensing procedure the license is valid. If the result of the check is that the authorized carrier does not comply partially or fully with the requirements according to which their license was issued, RAEA makes a recommendation issued for a certain period to eliminate disparities. In case of failure to act under the recommendation,  a proposal is made to the licensing authority - the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications for the termination of the license.

Meeting the requirements of the Railway Transport Act, these carriers have submitted the required documents for verification and review of the conditions under which they had acquired their licenses. The term for this procedure is three months. It will be completed by the beginning of October 2013. Both entities have a valid Safety Certificate Part A and Part B, which are fixed / they expire on 29.12.2013 / and are currently in the process of revision by RAEA.
