Minister Papazov: Turkey will not impose new higher transit fees for Bulgarian hauliers
21.08.2013
Turkey will not introduce higher transit fees for Bulgaria and confirmed it has maintained the 43 Euro fee, which is collected from our hauliers that carry out transit transportations through the territory of Turkey. This was announced by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Danail Papazov at today’s press conference.
This information was confirmed yesterday with an official letter from Ali Riza Yuceulu, Director General of Automobile Transport Directorate General at the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications of the Republic of Turkey. The official response of the Turkish party was confirmed by the Embassy of the Republic Turkey in Sofia during the meeting yesterday.
Minister Danail Papazov brought back the fact that on 12 August 2013, immediately after receiving information on the forthcoming introduction of new fees by the Turkish side, an inquiry was sent to the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications of the Republic of Turkey via Release No 68, requesting more detailed information. Back then the Turkish side claimed that the amount of 43 Euros of the fee remains unchanged for the Bulgarian hauliers as the automobile transportations of freight and passengers are regulated in the acting bilateral agreement.
These and some other issues will be discussed in greater detail during the forthcoming meeting at the beginning of September in Turkey. |
