Minister Danail Papazov inspected the construction of the railway line Plovdiv – Burgas

Today the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Danail Papazov inspected the works under Lot 2 (Stara Zagora - Zimnitsa) of the Plovdiv - Burgas railway project. It is being implemented under Operational Programme "Transport" and the value of the contract for the construction of the section is over 151 million lev without VAT.

During the inspection, Minister Papazov observed the new track laying and railroad switch near the station of Nova Zagora. The construction company of the site reported that the overall performance of the project exceeds 50%. Danail Papazov highlighted that the construction is progressing at a good pace and no compromise with quality and deadlines will be tolerated.

The project "Rehabilitation of railway sections of the railway line Plovdiv-Burgas" is divided into three sections and the contractor is OCAC "GCF - SK 13 - Trace Reylinfra Consortium". Lot 2 has a total length of 90 km and covers the route from Stara Zagora to Zimnitsa. Rehabilitation of railway sections Stara Zagora - Turning and Turning – Zimnitza is envisaged within the lot. The construction is expected to be completed it by the middle of 2014.
