In 100 days 121 million levs have been repaid to the beneficiaries under Transport Operational Programme

“In 100 days we have repaid 121 million levs to the beneficiaries under the Transport Operational Programme”, said Minister Danail Papazov at the press conference reporting the achievements ​​by the new management of the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications. According to him, 200 million additional levs have been provided for the implementation and preparation of railway projects, some of them being the Programme’s own resources, and the rest are to be negotiated with the European Investment Bank.

Three important sections of highways were opened in the past three months, among others the last part of "Trakia" highway, the section Dolna Dikanya to the road junction Dupnitza North of "Struma" highway and the section between the Sofia ring road and "Hemus" highway at Yana Station (8.5 km.). The construction of Lot 2 of "Struma" highway (37.5 km.) has began, and the preparation of the project for the extension of the subway - third metro diameter, has been completed.

Minister Papazov further reported that four contracts for the provision of grants have been signed – one for the preparation of Lot 3 of "Struma" highway, one for the preparation of the completion of "Hemus" highway, one for the construction of Montana bypass, one for "Rehabilitation of the station complex in Sofia Central Railway Station", "Rehabilitation of the station complex Railway Station Burgas - Passenger", "Reconstruction and renovation of the entrance building Pazardzhik - II-nd stage".
