The new management of Executive Agency “Automobile Administration” has terminated the fixing scheme of theoretical examinations for driver’s licenses

A fixing scheme of theoretical examinations for drivers has been ceased by the new management of Executive Agency "Automobile Administration". This was announced at a press conference by the Executive Director Dimitar Ganev. The case was disclosed in the regional office in Sofia. In the case of 38 exams, out of 110, the candidates had been given pre-ticked answers. A review of random sheets filled out from the beginning of the year till July, has identified more than 190 violations, announced Dimitar Ganev.
All the 19 employees of Executive Agency "Automobile Administration" who have held the exams are suspected to have participated in the scheme. The head of the sector is already released and five people with the largest number of violations have been proposed for disciplinary proceedings. The others are dismissed from holding examinations while the investigating and the prosecuting authorities decide on the case.
The new management of Automobile Administration has taken a series of measures to cancel the fixing of the theoretical examinations for drivers. A proof of their effectiveness is the fact that after detecting the scheme there has been an outflow of people registered for, but not sit, a theoretical examination in Sofia. What is new is that the examiners in Sofia are only from the central administration. The selection of the place of the exams will done electronically and e-exam papers are being prepared. Their counterfeiting is extremely difficult. So far there is only one case of an attempt to mislead the examiners. It was a man who had a camera in his jacket button and who received the answers remotely in a miniature handset.
The interest in electronic exam papers grows rapidly, reported Automobile Administration. Over 50 percent of the exams in the country are carried out via a tablet. There are even areas where the percentage is over 90.
A new Regulation Statute is being prepared. It will provide for the heads of the district administrations to be selected by competition. |
