34 data registers are "connected" in the largest project of MTITC in the e-governance

Thirty-four registers and information systems, supported by 14 central administrations can now automatically exchange data. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Georgi Todorov, at a seminar for presenting the results of the largest project in the field of e-government - "Development of the administrative services by electronic means". It's worth 18 million lev and is funded by the OPAC.
"Connecting the most used registers such as National Database "Population", Register of civil marriages, Classifier of current and permanent addresses, Land registry, Bulsatat, Trade Register, Register of motor vehicles, Register of Bulgarian Identification Documents are the essential prerequisite for the development of e-government, said the Deputy Minister. He added that the project has modernized the government portal. According to him, this is the place on the Internet, which has available all e-services. The portal is now convenient for the authorities and for businesses and citizens.
Georgi Todorov also said that the public discussion of the new draft law on e-governance will be held within weeks. It regulates the providing of administrative services and the exchange of data and documents electronically between agencies. In parallel, the central and local administrations have to implement the developed software applications in their information systems with minimal effort and investment in order to begin to provide electronic services.
The development of a new project of MTITC began, funded by OPAC, "Upgrading of existing and construction of new central systems of e-government in order to improve the information and communication environment for better administrative services to citizens and businesses." Among the new systems to be developed are the electronic checking of the validity of a document and the electronic delivery of documents.
