The 65th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and China was marked with post stamp

The Deputy Ministers of Transport, Information Technology and Communications and of Foreign Affairs, Georgi Todorov and Angel Velitchkov, the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly, Yanaki Stoilov, and the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China, Wei Jinghua, validated a post stamp on the occasion of the 65 years from the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
"This is the second post stamp, which is devoted to the diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and China in recent years", said Deputy Minister Georgi Todorov. He recalled that in 2009, a special edition was validated for the 60th anniversary of the historic event.
"Despite the geographical distance and the differences in size, the development between Bulgaria and China is based on the traditionally friendly relations", said the Deputy Foreign Minister, Angel Velikov. He stressed that in the past few months we have witnessed a dialogue at the highest level between the two countries. A proof of this is the planned exchange of delegations at various levels in 2014, which will give further impetus to the development of bilateral cooperation, said Velikov.
“The relations between the two countries reached a higher level in the last year”, said in his turn, Ambassador Wei Dzinhua. In his words the rich history of the bilateral relations, the sustainable positive dynamics and the active exchange at all levels are based on mutual trust, respect and goodwill.
The philatelic edition depicts Madara Horseman rock relief, which is a symbol of the First Bulgarian Empire and the Blue wooden horse, which is a symbol of the present year according to the ancient Chinese calendar. The philatelic edition consists of a post stamp, an illustrated envelope and a special post seal. The circulation of the post stamp is 17 000 copies and of the envelope - 1567 copies. The artist of the projects is Emilian Stankev.
