On board Minister Danail Papazov validats a postage stamp on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the launch of "Kaliakra" sail boat into water

A special postal-philatelic edition is dedicated to on the occasion of to the 30th anniversary of the launch of the training marine vessel “Kaliakra” into water. The seal for the validation was placed on the deck of the vessel by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Danail Papazov, the Chairman of the Committee on Regional Policy and Local Self-Government at the National Assembly Borislav Gutsanov, the Mayor of Varna Ivan Portnih, the Captain of "Kaliakra" Delian Radev and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bulgarian Maritime qualification center Hristo Boev.
Over 500 Bulgarian captains and mechanics and over 200 young people aged 16 to 25 years from different nationalities have undergone trainings on board the ship. This was announced during the ceremony by Minister Danail Papazov. He added that "Kaliakra" has participated in more than thirty international regattas and has visited hundreds of ports in Europe, Africa and North America. The Minister noted that the sail boat has won dozens awards, amgainst opponents from the traditionally renowned maritime countries such as Norway, England, Russia, Germany. The sailboat has been the winner of the prize for the fastest ship of the sailboats flotilla. Since 1986 "Kaliakra" has been a regular participant in the international regatta "Tall Ships Races."
Varna hosted and coordinated the first regatta in the Eastern Mediterranean and Black Seas "Historical Seas" in 2010. This year the city is again the center of the Black Sea Regatta “Tall Ships Races - 2014".
The postage edition on "Kaliakra" is the second, which is devoted to the sailing sea ship, said Minister Papazov at the launching ceremony. The post stamp is in circulation of 11 000 units. The artist of the project is Valentin Shtinkov.
Today's ceremony was attended by the governor of Varna Ivan Velikov, the mayor Ivan Portnih, the CEO of "Bulgarian Posts" Valentin Petkov, the former Kaliakra capitain and the godmother of the ship Lydia Slavova.
