The 150th anniversary of Peter Deunov’s birth is commemorated with a postage stamp

The 150th anniversary of the birth of the spiritual leader and founder of a religious and philosophical doctrine – Peter Deunov, was commemorated with a special postage stamp. “In recent years there has been a new trend in Bulgarian postage stamp issuing that is related to Bulgarians who had contributed to the development of spirit and perceptions of the meaning of life in a different way”, said the Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Georgi Todorov during the validation ceremony.
The stamp presents the image of the Teacher and one of the most magnetic places he would gather his followers – the Rila Lakes. The atmosphere of the religious camps and Rila conventions has been recreated by the artist Apostol Apostolov.
Representatives of the Parliament, members of the NGO “Edinenie DEN” and philatelists attended the launching ceremony. |
